Judith Seltzer appointed to National Research Council’s Standing Committee, Reengineering Census Operations

Professor Judith Seltzer has been appointed to the National Research Council’s Standing Committee on Reengineering Census Operations.  As you know, the census is the basis for apportionment, the foundation of the U.S. federal government.  Census data are used for allocating state and federal funds.  And these data help businesses and policy makers at all levels of government know the characteristics of the U.S. population in ways that inform decisions affecting the welfare of everyone in America.  This is a big honor, great recognition, and tremendous responsibility.

Congratulations to Professor Seltzer.
