CCPR ANNOUNCES NEW LEADERSHIP
We are very pleased to announce that Don Treiman is the new Director of CCPR
with Cameron Campbell and Kathleen McGarry as Associate Directors.
Don is Distinguished Professor of Sociology whose work in social demography
has had a major impact on the field. Don's research on social inequality from a
cross-national perspective has made both methodological and substantive
contributions to understanding of the measurement and meaning of status in
different social and economic contexts. His on-going research on China examines
the impact of economic transformation on intergenerational social mobility and
life's chances and is an extension of his research in Eastern Europe and South
Africa.
Kathleen is a leading economist working on aging whose work examines the
impact of public and private support on the well-being of the elderly. Her
recent work on insurance and older adults in America is having a substantial
impact on the field.
Cameron, who will lead the CCPR training program, is a sociologist whose work
focuses on how economic, social, and family organization influence the social
and demographic outcomes of individuals and families in pre-twentieth century
China.
Thank you Don, Kathleen and Cameron. We are all very grateful for your
willingness to take on this important leadership role!
