Please join us in congratulating Vilma Ortiz and Eddie Telles whose book, Generations of Exclusion, won the PSA 2009 Award for Distinguished Contributions to Scholarship and the 2009 Otis Dudley Duncan Book Award of the ASA Population Section.

Please join us in welcoming Jamie Jamison as a new member of the ISSR Data Archives staff.

Jamie has had a long relationship with the Archive beginning way back when we still had round tapes. Jamie refers to her time with us as when she was the "Tape Schlep" but she really did quite a bit more for us including maintaining all of our records on acquisitions. Jamie was also an intern with us while she did her MLIS here at UCLA. Her interests and skills match very nicely with what we do in the archive – digital archiving, social science data management, web design, database programming and statistical analysis. Jamie will begin in the Data Archives on January 26th as our Technology Specialist. If you have a chance to stop by the Archive please come in and introduce yourself. Welcome Jamie!
